My participation in the collective exposition Il·lustre anecdotari to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Apiv, the professional illustrators association in Valencia. All works were first exposed in the 52nd Book Fair of Valencia in April 2017. As common theme, everyone did an illustration talking about their experiences and feelings been an illustrator.

Smoke

Despite some bad experiences with customers and orders, I have a constant enemy that I hope to be able to get rid of. Like everyone, I have a few days better than others so it does not always affect me the same way, but there are times that it is harder to avoid comparing with others. What one day you admire so much that inspires and motivates you, the next day can make you feel small and insignificant. You do not stop thinking about what you are doing wrong, why haven't you worked more or better, you are fuming without stopping. A constant smoke coming out of you, it catches you, it drowns you, it clouds you.
We each have our rhythm, our way of doing things, of advancing and working, we should not let ourselves be carried away by what others do. You are you and they are them. Take a moment to air your head and look back at the good of your work. Now I allow myself a rest day only to catch the next one with twice as much energy.
