Sound in Motion "City Fires"
The second project in my motion graphics elective had us figure out visuals to accompany an audio clip given to us by our professor. The one I got had this sort of upbeat jazzy feel that made me think of city streets, and it ended up morphing into some concept of a hectic sequence of fire fighting with playful looking visuals. I gave everything a wooden sort of look and had a lot of the moving pieces propped up on sticks and cast a light on it all to make it look like a puppet theater of sorts.
We had to have a quote accompany it, and I used Henry David Thoreau's "The Hero is commonly the simplest and obscurest of men;" a nod to firefighters out there. (Or perhaps a nod to Firehouse Subs, a delicious food chain in Sarasota, FL that I frequent during the college semesters.)
