Lung Brooch
A narrative jewellery piece
Based on a personal narrative of asthma, the brooch represents the caged feeling the lungs have when I am unable to breathe.
The main body is made from roller printed brass and the cage detailing is made from silver wire, the pin on the back is made from steel wire.
The stone in the centre is a blue onyx and represents the reliever inhaler (which is blue in colour) opening up the lungs again.
The brooch measure approx. 18 cm in hight and 9cm in width, the idea is that the size reflects the lungs, to create an even stronger connection with the narrative.
