Cover Design

The Novum Magazine asked us to design the cover of the April's issue. Our concept focuses around the following concept:

Distortion of Realities

We live in a multidimensional reality. The age of plastic is in full progress and the extent of the uprising superintelligence is slowly appearing on the horizon. In the near future our current workforce will face an unforeseeable digitalization and robotization. How far this process will change our society still isn't predictable. From our point-of-view isolationism is the wrong path. A complete networking has to happen, together with a social tug. What else did humans do, when they were driven by poverty and suffering (war)?

Borders have to become blurred, the idea of national identity is outdated and reminds of the immense failures of the past. Our design concept is based on this core idea. We imply local and regional borders, connect and blur them. The typography can be read as "Border No Border" and reminds of compass directions (N, E, S, W). The brown of the cardboard shines through, opaque white was printed and the strong Pantone-yellow complements. The abstract forms remind of countries, paths, the offset of the digital change…

Photos by Dominic Brighton, the Magazine can be bought here.
