Pixels & Bits created interactive experiences for television working for companies such as NBC, American Express, Facebook, HSN, CNN, Showtime and more. The applications were implemented for the television using ActiveVideo Networks proprietary platform and SDK. The user controls the applications via a home television remote, on any set top box. Allowing the user to connect with friends on Facebook, gain real time home shopping with HSN, watch NBC episodes, or apply for an American Express credit card all from your television using your existing equipment.While working with AVN, Pixels & Bits participated in usability testing, creation of wireframes and visual designs, as well as extensive application development using current web technologies. We utilized external web services such as Flickr, Facebook and video aggregation sites to feed each particular application with content. This was built on top of a configurable system that allowed users to customize their news, search content, watch television episodes, browse and message friends, shop and more.
