Lotus Playhouse Concept:

Experience a playhouse that brings magic to your backyard. From the initial "idea" sketch to concept development, the Lotus Playhouse introduces a journey from the exterior flower petals into the interior flower. Climbing colorful crochet petals leads to a rooftop view with seating and the entrance into the interior. By day enjoy natural light in an open space where only a swinging pod chair hangs surrounded by flower stamens. The real magic happens at night when by remote control the stamens begin to light up and the flower's true colors begin to glow.

Who is this playhouse competition benefiting?

Dallas CASA (which stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a nonprofit organization of community volunteers trained and supervised to serve as voices in court for abused and neglected children. On any day in Dallas County, there are nearly 2,000 children waiting for a safe place to live. Many times the CASA volunteer is the only constant in the child’s life during this very difficult process. Parade of Playhouses raises funds for Dallas CASA to continue serving more children who need safe, permanent homes where they can thrive.

I teamed up with my brother, an engineer, to enter the charity contest.
