T-shirt Designs // GET ON THE BUS
GOTB for human rights is annual event organized by Amnesty International's group 133. The key demographic consists of college and high school students who travel to NYC for a day of human rights activism. The shirts are sold to raise funds for future rallies.
GOTB 2016
Last year, I was told that "the kids want simple graphics". I drew inspiration from Russian Constructivist posters.
GOTB 2015
For the 20th anniversary edition, I really wanted to feature all of the cases that AI 133 had covered over their two decades of organizing GOTB. You'll see the names of every individual or group that had been advocated for within the smaller text, as well as three of their more prominent cases.

To tie in the early years of GOTB, I looked at popular graphics of the mid-nineties, especially Paula Scher's 1996 poster for The Public Theater.
EARLY CONCEPT
Before deciding to do a throwback design to commemorate the anniversary, I had gone for a more abstract and contemporary style.
GOTB 2014
The 80s had been "back" for a while, but in 2014 I couldn't get away from them. I'm also a sucker for lo-fi computer graphics. This was inspired by early video games.
GOTB 2013
Creating my first T design for Amnesty's group 133, was truly an honour. Collaborating with veteran human rights activists for such an important cause was very inspiring. I drew on my own experience from the previous year's event to create the graphics, hoping the younger participants would enjoy them.
