ART 164 Introduction to Digital Photography
Spring 2015

This set of images is a series of visual abstractions created in the Introduction to Digital Photography class.  Each student created a series of photographs of ordinary objects to transform the subject so that it becomes all or partially unidentifiable and therefore “abstract.” Methods used include: using extreme close-ups, juxtaposing unusual points of view, using distortions, lighting effects, and so forth. This series of photographs are of various architectural landmarks used as subjects for visual abstractions.
