The Prophet

When I decided to make my 2nd poster, I started out with a 12.5 x 12.5 canvas and made a quick sketch, then I inked it. I started the project out like this so I could place it in a square border that would be made on the mini-poster canvas (11 x 14).
I then colored the head and the canvas, I went with 2 shades of yellow, a really light blue for the color of the hair, and went with a bright green for the highlight of the face. Orange was chosen as the backdrop because I had already decided that the finished poster would have that for the background color.

When I finished the first part of the poster I decided to use a drawing that I had made before the project was assigned for background material.
I chose this piece because I felt that it could tie in nicely into Main piece.

Here's the process for this illustration:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once I decided that I had what I needed for the poster I exported both illustrations into the 11 x 14 canvas, for the first drawing I increased it's height, then made multiple copies of the green highlight, on the second layer I did a lot of line hatching, and on the third copy I did a bunch of line hatching with a smaller pencil brush to give it a cross-hatching effect.
With the second Image I duplicated the head two times and made each one smaller than the other.
I then added the background colors and the photo frames. Orange was placed first then the frames were made, after that, I took the background that was in the second image and used the light and the sky for the cactus frame, I used the bucket tool on all three frames. The main frame got it's color from the red I used on the cactus, and the other frame is a dull pink color. After that was all done I moved the frame background around until it created an interesting visual.
This is the background frame.
For making the clock on this poster, I started out with a circle then created some white lines over it so I could space out the numerals that would go on it evenly, then I added chains to it, shrunk it, then lowered the opacity, so it wouldn't be too distracting.

The final poster.

An alternate version of the final without the faces and the cactus.
