This is a composite of some of the images I used to develop my vision for my first year book. I used color pallettes, branding references, and websites to create the design goal in my mind.
I put together a layout of how I wanted the book to end up, as well as doing color sketches of cover ideas and icon ideas to create unity in my design.
This book contains a wide variety of my design work from the last few years, including computer generated art work and fine art pieces.
Each spread was designed individually, working within the theme of the New Simplicity design era.
I hand drew all of the headers and the cover title using a wacom tablet with Adobe Illustrator. I also drew the leaf design on the cover as well as the small leaf icon on each page corner. The idea for this came from how many hand-drawn fonts were used in my design references and instead of searching for a font I decided to make it completely unique by doing it myself.
Pulling together pictures of so many of my projects was an adventure. I loved how I could showcase each piece and bring them all together.
This book was my first attempt at perfect binding in a project. It was fun to learn how the machine worked, even though the actual binding of the book proved to be a challenge!
