I am Mindanao is a campaign which seeks to address violent extremism in Mindanao.
It is organized by a group of Development Communication students from Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan in light of recent violent extremist activities that ended innocent lives and suffused fear among the people of Mindanao.
The campaign endeavors to educate college students in Cagayan de Oro about violent extremism in Mindanao, strengthen their sense of pride as Mindanawons, and empower them to take part in countering violent extremism.
A series of activities will be carried out by the team including a young communicators’ camp, university seminars, active social media promotions,
mall exhibit, and engaging projects for Mindanawons as an effort to lay down the foundation of countering violent extremism in Mindanao
with the youth standing as pioneers for change and development.
