NASIM- Nasal Cavity Simulator Kit
Introduction Video

NASIM is a nasal cavity simulator kit serves to provide students and junior surgeons a platform to practice nose examination skills.
The simulator kit includes realistic nasal cavity models with various different nose conditions derived from real patients data. The nasal cavity models are also equipped with calibrated pressure sensors to simulate real patients discomfort level to help students recognise different nose conditions with proper nose examination techniques. The process will also be guided and reflected through a complimentary app.

Currently, medical students who have completed theory-based learning in year 1 and year 2, are not well prepared for hospital rotation where they will have opportunity to practice on real patients, due to insufficient practical skills learned for nose examination. This caused patients' discomfort when they conduct nose examination on real patients.

Dr Mark Thong, on explaining current teaching challenges due to unrealistic anatomy models and restrictions to practice on actual patients.
Lin Xinyi, a medical student on explaining how current teaching methods and resources are often insufficient for learning.

Most recent set of NASIM developed for validation test.
