Master of the Arctic
In June 2016 we published the booklet Master of the Arctic: Comprehensive Polar Bear Studies in Prospective Development Areas of the Russian Arctic Shelf. This publication presents a summary of key methods and approaches to Polar Bear studies carried out by Rosneft Oil Company.
These studies are intended to provide up-to-date information on the biological and environmental background of the species in its natural habitat within the prospective development areas of the Russian Arctic Shelf.
Atop the food chain the Polar Bear is the uncontested master of the Arctic, key indicator of the health of Arctic ecosystem and a species extremely difficult to study requiring unique scientific expertise, significant investments and a systematic approach.
