YAYA

YAYA is a concept designed to revolutionize the way in which we straight our teeth.
By detecting the position of your teeth with the distance sensor, YAYA shifts each tooth separately to the right place, using several magnetic controllers.
Self-detecting and adjusting by microcontroller enables the user to save a bunch of time wasting on visiting the dentist.

Design Criteria
Focusing on the full cycle of product development, from problem definition and initial research to design development and refinement and to proof of concept and deliverables including various dimensions of human factors and sensing technologies applied to next wearables. Exploring the new design space with body interface, enabling technologies and mobile application.

Challenge
• Difficult fitting
• Flexible sensors
• Mobile device UIs

After the brain storming and discussion, our team decided to design a teeth wearable device. We found this topic interesting not only because it fits the criteria of difficult fitting, we also saw a big oppotunity of improving the current device with design, which has not been paid much attention before.
