Boscastle suffered a devastating flood on 16th August 2004. The flash floods were caused by an exceptional amount of rain fall over an eight hour period.
75 cars, 5 caravans, 6 buildings and several boats were washed into the sea. Approximately 100 homes and  businesses were destroyed, some had to be demolished. Estimated cost of the damage was £15 million......
There is also a museum which houses the worlds largest collection of witchcraft related artefacts  www.museumofwitchcraftandmagic.co.uk
Take the walk past the harbour and up the cliffs towards the old lookout tower for some amazing views.
The old lookout tower sat high on top of the cliffs, once used to spot smugglers heading for the naturally hidden harbour.
