It's All About Dog Walking
This is my individual project to create an illustration book which was submitted for assessment for the course 'Developing an Illustration Project' at Edinburgh College of Art in April 2017.
Starting from observation, I picked different people and different dogs to make this project more exciting. The characters are based on photographs and what I can recall from observation. Then I found out that changing some part of the characters (for example, their outfits or hairstyles) would make the work more interesting. I also did one-minute interviews with them about their dogs, took notes and included their quotes in the book. I want to create stories that audience can enjoy and see how similar or different the dogs are. The book contains 14 pages of illustrations. Only some are shown here.
The illustrations do not only include portraits of people and dogs but also some landscapes in a background in order to narrate more about the settings where an individual scenario takes place. At the end of the book, there is a fun game the audience can enjoy and on the very last page, I show a picture of me and my dogs in order to indicate the ending.
