Redesigning prehistory: Water Loop

Water is one of the important thing in our life - that’s banal. Now we are used to water is in our homes (in bottles or in supply system). Technologies did their job - we forgot about simple objects and their functions needed for  usual life of our ancestors.
Inspiration for Waterloop was vessel with three necks I’d seen in archeological museum. Studying simillar kinds of vessels I discovered traditional Spanish bottle for storing water el botijo. Due to the property of clay to pass the water particles through the walls, el botijo creates a cooling effect.
I started to do a lot of sketches and continuing my research, looking for final shape of the object. Inspiration for the shape was the flower of the water hyacinth, a water-purifying properties of that were discovered in 2007-2008 and still actively studied and applied now.
Water hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes
Than I created few object from clay.
Unfortunately, only two of them was still alive after two firings in the kiln.
Waterloop is a vessel made from red clay, allows you to safely store drinking water inside and outside your home. Under sunlight, the clay wall is passing through particles of water, which evaporate and cool down the clay walls and the water inside the bottle. The bottle has a simple, uncluttered modern shape allowing to hang it in natural way.
