One day I got a message from DDB Canada with an offer to make a key visual for advertising campaign of Lotto! mobile app by The British Columbia Lottery Corporation. The visual had to be very close to my “Diverse Vacations” illustration from my “Five Projects” post. So you can notice they are quite similar in the details. But then the client decided to make two more visuals with other stories. It was a challenging work because I got only lists of elements and mood boards. Thus I had to harmonize a bunch of various elements in one story. Initially I did it in my sketches and then in illustrations using 3D and Photo Manipulations. The first illustration for “Lotto Max” is about different kinds of activities and sports. In order to make image more attractive I mixed turquoise tropic sea with shine snowy mountains. I loved working on the picture especially on its underwater part with the diver, corals and fish. Despite in the last time I’m mostly a 3D artist I still love making pictures combining photos like in this case. The tropic lagoon part includes several water sports like surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, jet skiing and also relaxing elements like yacht and bungalow hotel. In the mountain part you can see a couple of winter sports like skiing and riding a snowmobile. Also you can notice alpine chalet on the rock. The second illustration for “Lotto 6/49” is more about European tourism and beach vacation. Technically this is mix of 3D and photo manipulations. For example all background - floatplane, alpine cottage, Italian city with tower of Pisa, Egypt pyramids and Sphinx made with stock photos. But almost all foreground - golf player, palms, Rapa Nui statues, ancient boat and even people on sunbeds, man in the pool and female in spa are 3D rendered. The third illustration for “Daily Grand” is focused on travel tickets, city exploring and sightseeing. That was made mostly in 3D. 3D elements are the bridge, Venetian gondola including passengers, dancing couple, tourist with photo camera, train, airplane, the Tower bridge and Eiffel tower. Only river with rafting and Louvre were made from photos. Read Less
