Discovering layers is a second level weaving course which facilitates the understanding of complex woven fabrics along with developing a collection of furnishing swatches. This course emphasized on the understanding and construction of multilayered and multi faced woven fabrics. It involved generating new structural possibilities on a dobby loom and building patterns. The collection of fabrics was inspired from the design philosophies and identity of textile design editors. Textile design editors are design firms which design trends for a season. Thus, we researched about their design process and came up with a collection.
NOBILIS comes from the Latin word Nobile, meaning 'distinguished' or “in good taste”. It opened in the year 1928 and till date it is a leading brand which epitomizes elegance and good taste of French culture, while still remaining open to international influences. The rich, radiant NOBILIS collections explore highly varied worlds imbued with a love of color, harmony and flights of fancy.
