Mary - Trivago Case Study

We all like stories, from the magical moment of discovering adventures to
the satisfying process of telling them to an eager crowd. Here’s where Mary
comes along. She is a citizen of the world, a person with whom we can
relate, and with an issue we – travelers – encounter all the time: how will I
find the right accommodation for my needs? By choosing an infographic,
we can tackle the problem in an ambitious way: exploring this medium
allows us to tell a dense, detailed story with appealing and memorable
graphics to support the story’s weight. With a scroll-down infographic,
there’s a feeling of turning a new page by the various breaks in the image,
emulating the feel of a story book. And with the help of tools such as
illustration and typography, we create openings to increase the capacity of
information preservation and visual memory creation.

An infographic is an efficient method to save resources such as
time and cost, since it’s easier to set up and construct than a video or an
animation. When the graphic is done and saved, its simple, low-sized
format can be quickly uploaded online or sent to publications, partners and
other stakeholders, setting up a proficient communication channel to spread
Trivago’s vision even further.
