James Hand - Mighty Lonesome Man

James Hand - Mighty Lonesome Man
"I loved Hank Williams from the first time I heard him sing 'Lovesick Blues' on the Grand Ole Opry. For the same reason I love Lefty Frizzell and Merle Haggard, George Jones. You believe them. James Hand's singing makes me feel the same way. You believe him." - Kris Kristofferson
This project is the single largest project that Pretty Good Posters has taken on to date, both in size of players and size of the actual project. James "Slim" Hand, if you don't know, has been playing country music for well over 40 years. James is well respected by many country music legends such as Kris Kristopherson and Willie Nelson. James left Rounder records and decided to release his latest album with Hillgrass Bluebilly Records an independent Texas label. What Hillgrass lacks in size they make up in heart.

This project started as a simple 4 panel digipack into a digipack, booklet, vinyl cover, dust jacket, one sheet and tour poster. I think we're gonna direct the music video too!

All of the photos were provided by an Austin, TX based photographer or by James himself in the case of the family photos. We added our touch by scuffing them and stressing them out.  Since we were using all the old family photos for the booklet we decided it would be really cool to make the booklet look like an old photo album that your grandma would pull out to embarrass the first girlfriend your brought home.

The tour poster and one sheet were done to look like they were aged even though they're still hot off the press!

We put this entire project together from scratch, including the vinyl, cd cover, and all the promotional material.
