Playing Card for HVC

This project we were required to research a character, story, or event from history and consider ways to express our concept in the format of a standard deck of cards. The number and suit of the card was determine by a birthday chart. I was inspired by Tim Burton.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I liked learning about the different styles this week. Each one was unique in its own
way. I researched as much as I could on the topic I picked. I was a bit confused on how
to do this assignment, but I connected more with the style of Tim Burton. I've never
been a fan of his because of the dark style he's always had but looking at this artwork I
like what I saw and felt I connect better with it than the others.
So for my playing card, I went with a somewhat Tim Burton theme just not as dark. I
wanted to keep it cute yet stick to the theme. Based on the card birth chart, I had the
ve of diamonds. For the back of the card, I made a bear with wings sitting on a cloud
with a red sun behind him. For the front of the card, I keep it minimal with a 5 small
diamonds inside of a larger one.
