This is an assignment in which I have taken inspiration from an existing editor (company) that works in textile. Studying their brand completely, their working style, their inspiration I have created a collection of weaves around their collections and themes.
Nobilis comes from the Latin word Nobile, meaning 'distinguished' or “in good taste”. In 1928, Adolphe Halard, founder of the company, opened a boutique under this name in Paris.
Nobilis is a leading brand which epitomises the elegance and good taste of French culture, while still remaining open to international influences. Always refined and of the highest quality, the different styles of Nobilis collections range from twists on traditional French patterns to the latest chic designer creations. They are characterised by the richness of their materials, their creativity, patterns, and colours as well as their technical innovation.
• Studying these collections gave me a thought of his process of how he fragments his motifs from the actual picture for his work inspiration. Taking patterns and textures from zoom in images out of the whole picture.
• Overall colour scheme is mainly subtle colours of silver/white, golden/beige, red and blue. Green and browns are present in few of their collections.
• Minimal motifs is a major concentration in their collections.
• Bold style of working
• They work with various kinds of materials.
• Most of their inspirations are from nature.

Hence taking Fragmentation as my theme, I have created 5 swatches of weaves.
