Food, we can all unashamedly accept, is the dearest thing to us, in this entire world. Food is what brings real joy to our ordinary mundane lives. What is it that you want to do after a long, long day? Eat! Sit down to have a hearty meal, take in the aroma, savor the flavors, and let your teeth sink into pure blissful pleasure.
Yes, Food! That’s what we all want.
Food is the message, the angel is the messenger who brings it. For the National Institute of Fashion Technology, this messenger is the *Chai-Chechi*
Our eyes sit in awe, in wait of this darling lady who will come bring us our happiness, not when we sit for the routine breakfast, lunch and dinner but at a time when we need a ‘break’. Sitting in our boring classes, we wait for her to bring the evening chai and a random snack.
We don’t know when she’ll come. Someday it’s 3:00, somedays its 4:30.
We don’t know what she’ll get. It can be vada, it can be bread pakora and if you’re lucky, it can be the tastiest samosa you’ll eat in the city.
Maybe it’s the thrill of the unknown that hooks us. Nah, its food!
And so, she wanders around the college, a class at a time, spreading happiness all around as bored and hungry kids wade off behind her, surrounding her in hoards.
Such is a normal day in the life of the *Chai Chechi*, very much like a million other messengers.
...and the journey begins..
Feeding everyone...
...you can walk with her...
...sneak up on her...
She covers every inch...
Spreading joy...
Pouring down happiness...
No! She isn't gonna wait for you to finish conversation. She knows you were waiting for her and even you know she needs to be at places.
Don't worry! She will find you. She has a list.
She is like a Santa with many gifts. You can choose your own.
The kind one.
Always smiling...
She will always look up on you. You might come and leave. Only she knows the number of mouths she has fed.
