Ayr United FC Redesign Concept

Ayr United FC.

Ayr United Football Club are a Scottish football club from the town of Ayr, Ayrshire who currently compete in the Scottish Championship, having been promoted from the 2015–16 Scottish League One. Nicknamed 'The Honest Men' from a line in famed Scottish poet Robert Burns' 'Tam o' Shanter', the club were formed in 1910 after the merger of former clubs Ayr and Ayr Parkhouse.

With their current crest breaking ancient heraldic laws with the Count of Lord Lyon, the club made an open call to designers to form their new mark. Unfortunately for me, this news came too late, but nonetheless I developed my own crest as practice. This proposed concept retains key design features from the much-loved infringing badge, whilst reviving the use of the side's original focal symbol to proudly commemorate the history of both the town and club.
