Armpit fire hose (Fireman's Prayer)

Industrial Design
Armpit fire hose
- Existing fire nozzles(pistol type) are difficult for fire fighters to bear because of high water pressure and must be supported from behind by 2~3 people since there is no handhold. For these reasons, this new fire nozzle is designed in order that it is easy to hold because the holding force is stable to use shoulder-launching, and handle in front is conceived as the circular shape to grip easily with any posture.

When we come out to live in the flames, they go into the fire to save us.

Fire nozzles(pistol type) must be supported by at least 2~3 fire fighters because the rebound is severe, there is little place to hold, and it is hard to stand alone. It is, however, significantly inefficient. In fire situation, each human resources of the fire fighters is very important. Thus existing means waste 2~3 human resources on account of nozzle. In addition, existing fire nozzles are too short to reach the high section of the building in some cases.

When firefighters arrive at the fire site, they are divided into rescue teams, fire suppression team, and emergency teams.
A fire suppression team can not use personnel efficiently if there are three or four people in a hose to shoot water.
If one person can control the hose, the remaining personnel can help the rescue team or emergency team.

The Best Angle according to ergonomics.
On the side view, adjusting three angles of the pistol, the shoulder rest, and the hose is important challenge. First of all, the shoulder rest’s angle has to be comfortable to sustain the rebound of water pressure with regard to ergonomics. Also, the hose, if it were connected from below, could weaken water pressure. In addition, if it were connected from behind, the burden of weight against user could be put on.
