Creative Product Development

This project showcases the skills needed for product conception and development. I took both photos in a studio environment. In the first photo, there has been foliage styling of the lettuce, originally photographed in a white 3 pod unit, which I then digitally isolated to re-use in other units that were photographed from the same angle and lighting. So the photograph of the ladybug was taken empty. Some light retouching of dust or fingerprints was always necessary.

The 3 pod AeroGarden was already available in white and black, but customers wanted more variety and a common request was 'red'. I wanted to make more garden-specific designs than just solid colors. This was one of many ideas I had, and began life as a photoshop mockup and ended up selling many, many units. Mapping the design to the hood and bowl parts required 2 Illustrator files.
This is a photo of a white 6 pod Aerogarden with digital overlays to create new color, texture, and pattern. More elegant than the cute ladybug, but still keeping with a garden theme. This is one layer of many in a single Photoshop file containing several different design choices.
Quick digital sketch of large container concept with removable LED light banks.
3d concept of outdoor solar aeroponic garden wall. Built in Second Life using prims and some in-world existing textures and assets.
