About the project

OBSERVATION
Teams working on UX and web design projects often encounter problems when trying to communicate about strategy and design thinking across a wide range of internal and stakeholder disciplines/departments.

These problems tend to arise as each team member defaults to speaking in their "native" discipline language(s).

INSIGHT
Individuals lean on what they know and use the technical terms, jargon, and 'inside' phrases familiar to their own discipline - but that language often means something different or is totally unknown to other disciplines.

This makes each individual initially more comfortable and confident but ultimately leads to miscommunication and misalignment across a project, drawing out timelines, wasting budgets, and creating frustration amongst the team and clients.

IDEA
Give teams a common language for communicating about web experience design which removes any influence of discipline-based language bias by eliminating word-based communication altogether.

Execution
Create an iconography kit representing a range of common web design layout and content archetypes/template giving teams a simple, visual way to communicate about UX and web design.
