Traditionally the arrival of the Hebrew month of Elul is the opportunity to quietly prepare for the renewal of the Jewish New Year. This is also called Cheshbon Nefesh, meaning accounting of one’s life (or soul) or in other words soul searching.

During the month of Elul 5776, I posted a daily blog following the prompts on the themes offered by Rabbi Phyllis Sommer.

I also dedicated these inspiration nuggets for the "refuah shelemah", a complete healing of the soul of our rabbi Marcus Burstein z"l who sadly passed away at the conclusion of Yom Kippur 5777, ten days after these were published.

It gave me great comfort to know from him that he enjoyed reading those imperfect blogs and I want now to share them in his memory, as he has had such a positive impact on me, and my hope is that they will always be for a blessing if they can inspire more and more people in our attempts to repair this world.
