This project was a ground up redesign of the University of Nebraska High School (UNHS) website. The goal was to create a responsive website that both appeals and provides valuable information to potential students, parents, and advisors. All the while maintaining, the support information for current students that was the focus of the prior site.
As the sole Web Designer on this project, I was involved in nearly every step of the development process. From planning the UX and guiding the content strategy in the discovery phase, creating wireframes and the full UI in the design phase, and writing the HTML & CSS in the development phase.
I was challenged by the project stakeholders to keep all of the header's navigation items accessible from wherever the user might be on the page, without letting the sticky header take up too much room. I achieved this by adding an additional primary menu item that is only visible when the user has scrolled and the header becomes stuck.
I improved the user experience by reducing the complexity of the information-request forms across the site. This was achieved by adding conditional fields to the forms. These fields only appear, and may be required depending on which inputs the user selected.
