TENSION/UNDERNEATH is a futuristic line designed for underrepresented groups that utilizes athletic patterns, free-flowing fabric and armor to signify the adaptation and self-care that the people and community need in order to survive. The armor incorporates defense, color and versatility to protect their emotions in oppressive environments. This body of work explores the interconnected growth of man and machine. Focusing on the use of color and texture to portray emotion, each design reflects a different kind of emotional defense. This collection creates a sense of tranquility in a future of unrest and environmental decay.
