These are projects from Metal One
a Rhode Island School of Design class for Industrial Design sophomores. The course focuses on design and craft in metal, using hand tools and basic machines.
The brief for this project was to explore the use of Aluminum and Tin plate and design a inspirational piece.
In the Aluminum project I inserted a sense of transforming dimensions, as the piece should be able to present one form that is totally interactive with the 3D space, but also be able to present another form that is comparatively flat and linear through transformation.
In the Tin project I made a machanical structure that can evolve a single movement in the middle into multiples of a different movement on the out side.
