Invisible from <1 meter
My class was assigned two midterms, one of which prompted us to create an object that was "invisible" at less than a meter away. In response to this prompt, I attemped to make a mug made of ice. I bought a mug from the RISD store, sawed and sanded off the handle, and created a silicone mold of it after a few attempts. I then froze water within the mold and poured room temperature water over it and a hibiscus tea bag.
For me, the significance of this piece lies in how it represents professional and personal sacrifices people in my family have made for the benefit of others.
