The Idea–

Sherwood Square is a revitalised retail centre, bringing energy, creativity and vitality back to 600 Sherwood Road. We want to build and foster our community and offer a collective space for retailers and visitors alike.

A creative brand and personality was developed to compliment the refurbishment of the retail centre to engage, energise and revitalise the precinct. In addition to branded signage, creative elements were designed to give a subtle element of fun to the centre – such as positive posters, cactus murals, custom laser cut screens and some of the most exciting – and instagrammed – toilet doors found in Brisbane.

The logo–

This wordmark/logo was developed to communicate the vibrancy and creativity of the Sherwood Square brand. We are creating a space that is open, warm and welcoming. The extended spacing between letters in this logo gives the brand a soft and spacious feel. The bold weight of the font used also allows visual clarity and confidence in the brand. By abbreviating Square to Sq. we bring in a level of creativity and design style that differentiates Sherwood Square from other centres. The Square is to be unlike any other and we want to attract both retailers and visitors who understand and appreciate this creative aesthetic. The geometric font also walks the wonderful line of being both classic and modern – a nod to the beautiful original features found at Sherwood Square, and a wink to the creative transformation of this space.

Where we gather–

Sherwood Square is bringing vibrancy, energy and excitement back to 600 Sherwood Road, Sherwood. We want to engage and build community. We want businesses that will become a visitor’s ‘local’, where the barista knows your name, where you meet friends after school-drop-off, where you take your laptop to get some work done in a relaxed setting with amazing coffee. Sherwood Square is where we come. It’s where we gather.
