Chora Project: The creativity behind the human eye

Essence
grey matter floating
ice crystals freeze in this air
complexity deep
the naked soul found
intricacy lines are drawn forth
lost in the blue gray
reflections of thought
intertwine with her mind
she has moved way on
defining herself
each intricate line reveals
the pain she has felt
aquamarine pit
vibrancy in pastels set
the quality stands
Mood
the storm has set sail
ruby tears follow him out
locked in his own soul

wispy clouds of ice
make room for the inner truth
he doesn't want to lose me
amber invested
beige sunsets mixed with fall leaves
she is determined
her tears fall from face
the boy never meant to run
even her iris changed
fire ridden look
the sun illuminates her
contrast of colors
Perspective
her iris reflects light
staring intensely out
the sun lost in sea
she sees the rainbow
it reminds her of her past
expected deep thoughts
her iris was kissed by
mermaids in the deep ocean
she has become one
insecurities
shine brighter than her eye ball
she stares at her love

mixed in ebony
dark adventures call her out
she cant stand to wait
Function
she is near-sided
but still does not recognize
potential she has
gateway to the soul
what does the color tell you
born in march, she's green
the constriction of
her pupils tells him she's
no longer in love

eyes so brown that she
does not even realize that
eyelashes look false
her eyes tell a tale
of creativity and
large empowerment
Narrative:The purpose behind my project is to showcase the intricacy and creativity through the use of eyes. I believe that the eye is the most creative thing on the human body. So why not investigate them, and give them a closer look? What is so interesting about the human eye is that from a far all people see is blue, green, brown. But, when looked at closely you so much more than just one plain color. You see crystals, lines, vibrancy, mixture of multiple colors, twists, figures, etc. Many people say that the eyes are the gateway to the soul, and I agree with that statement. However, eyes are also used for seeing, and I think the creativity found in the iris of the eye is a collection of memories that each human has gone through in their life. Putting this in a little bit of different terms, what I mean by that is, I believe that peoples eyes are always changing and adding new elements. This is how my eye is different from your eye, it collects our memories and broadcasts them through the iris. The only reason I think this is because I have always had a fascination with the human eye. When I was little, I would always look at my mom’s eye and wonder why I didn’t have as much green in my eye as she did. I grew up always wanting blue green eyes. I would always take pictures of my eyes, try to edit them with blue, wear color contacts, and I started to notice that my eyes had been slightly changing over time. My eyes used to have a more light brown look to them on the outside, with green in the middle more toward my pupil. Now, however, it is opposite I have dark green on the outside ring, and a light greenish toward the pupil. I can’t say this is true for everyone, but I can say that I’m sure there have been minuscule changes to your eyes that you never noticed. The only reason I ever noticed them was because of my ongoing obsession and charting of my own eyeball. I also think it is important to note that every single persons eyelashes are completely different as well. This is important to how the eye is shaped, and the overall appearance of the eye itself from a far or from a close up position. The appearance or lack of appearance of the eyelashes can cause the eye to look very unhealthy. I captured the four elements: essence, mood, perspective, and function in my photos and accompanied them with haikus. These haikus are important to describing each element and what the picture itself is attempting to portray. Overall, I really enjoyed this project more than the other projects mainly because I learned how to enhance eyes in photos, got to look at other peoples eyes and how amazingly beautiful every single person’s eyes actually are, and explore the creativity each person has to offer by something so small on our bodies.
