As I was reorganizing my studio I stumbled onto this fun set of collage paintings I did back in 2008/2009. These guys were originally created in preparation for the Ice Cream Robot series, in order to work out the kinks in the collage techniques I wanted to use. Each one of these "sketches" where done on a large format moleskin notebook which I later gutted so that I could eventually use the paintings for a future show. Unfortunately they never saw the light of day, but I still loved how they came out. I only spent about 30-45 minutes on each one so there's a great gestural quality to the characters even though I'm using bold shapes.

After falling in love again with this wonderfully bizarre menagerie of fantastical beasts, I decided to post each one in my online store for anyone to purchase. So if you're interested in owning an inexpensive original painting feel free to visit my shop and pick out a critter :)
