We were informed that we would be required to create three unique filters for the app, Snapchat. These filters were to be specific to a location of our choosing and, with my interest in Scandinavia, I chose these three capitals. Although, not required to submit the images to Snapchat it was an eyeopening application of how illustration may be used in the everyday.

I read somewhere that the flag of Denmark is prolifically flown all over the country and so I chose to represent all three countries with a more general illustration than what could have been used. This was done so that if my designs were to be accepted by Snapchat, I could use these filters without being to conscious of aspect X not suiting my photo.

I was able to find a map of each country to trace by hand and then via image trace cream the outline I wanted. These countries will not be exact and this has a more meaningful significance to lend to my design as it was how I perceived the map at the time of drawing.

This was a nice exercise to reaffirm the skills I have learned whilst in class this semester. It also gave me the chance to fight with 'Fredrick' the grumpiest of scanners.
