Coach's Corner Game Design Document

Back when XBox was developing Kinect, they called it Project Natal.  Project Natal promised to do many exciting things, including the ability to scan your items in and then interact with them.  It promised to be similar to interactive walls as demonstrated in the Milo Demonstrations.

At this time, Humana Games4Health did a call-out for health-oriented game designs.  Coach's Corner was designed for this contest.  The concept was that you could take your real equipment--a tennis racket, a skateboard, a baseball bat, etc, and practice with real coaching pointers.  The weight of your equipment meant that you'd get a legitimate workout and the benefits of the "game" would extend to activity in the real world.  The game was never developed, but placed in the Top 5 in HG4H's InsertCoin.

I learned that it is unwise to design around promised tech, regardless of demonstrations. To this day, we still don't have the technology to interact with a game in the way the design document outlines.
