Creating pattern library

In Philips I work on creation of the new design language: library of controls and design patterns, which are meant to unify design of Philips products and guide designers in their choices. The design language is meant to provide actual plug-and-play user interface elements and design patterns as well as usability recommendations to consider when designing a new product.
My personal contribution consists of providing usability and interaction design support in designing reusable controls and patterns for mobile and desktop solutions. The challenge is in creating controls that would fit varying user groups and use contexts. The context for these solutions varies from professional medical solutions to consumer health and lifestyle applications. Created controls are implemented and tested in Philips products.
