Typographia Curityba

Fui convidada pelo amigo @LucasPereiraNery pra participar desse projeto incrível, no qual desenhei um poster com lettering inspirados em tipografias usadas em Curitiba, minha cidade, no século XIX, com o surgimento da Tipographia Paranaense.

Em suas palavras: "O projeto Tipografia Curitiba tem por objetivo pesquisar, analisar, e exibir o universo tipográfico da cidade de Curitiba a partir da instalação da Tipographia Paranaense em 1854. Com base em recorte do acervo imagético da Casa da Memória de Curitiba, especialmente nos exemplares fotográficos e editoriais do período até o ano de 1945. O projeto investiga ativamente a interface entre arte e design, a interferência mútua presente como núcleo criativo da atividade impressora, desde seu passado mais remoto, adentrando a era dos suportes imateriais. Cyla Costa, Pedro Gonzalez e Gustavo Aguiar são designers e André Mendes, Fernando Franciosi e Rimón Guimarães são artistas plásticos, todos com expressiva atuação no Brasil e exterior. São eles os responsáveis pela transposição do universo tipográfico de Curitiba do século XIX, das prateleiras da Casa da Memória para a era da informação, em redesenhos e releituras tipográficas."

I was invited by my friend @LucasPereiraNery to participate in this incredible project, in which I designed a poster with letterings inspired by different typographies used in Curitiba, my home town, with the emergence of Tipographia Paranaense.

In his words:"The Tipografia Curitiba project aims to research, analyze and display the typographic universe of the city of Curitiba after the installation of Tipographia Paranaense in 1854. Based on a cut of the image collection of the House of Memory of Curitiba, especially in the photographic copies and editorials from the period up to 1945. The project actively investigates the interface between art and design, the mutual interference present as the creative nucleus of the printer activity, from its most remote past, entering the era of immaterial media. Cyla Costa, Pedro Gonzalez and Gustavo Aguiar are designers, and André Mendes, Fernando Franciosi and Rimón Guimarães are plastic artists, all of them with significant work in Brazil and abroad. They are responsible for the transposition of the typographic universe of Curitiba from the 19th century, from the shelves of the House of Memory for the Information age, in redesigns and typographic reinterpretations."
