My friends at Tone Madison asked me to create a poster for a High Plains show they were sponsoring. High Plains is a two-piece band featuring cello and electronics creating lovely, stark music perfectly described by their name. Being a fan of wood string instruments, I sought to capture a visual element suggestive of the cello combined with my interpretation of the musical aesthetic. The result was a night-time prairie scene with smoldering smoke in the shape of an instrument F-hole.
