The Community Institute of the Great Florianopolis Area acts as a Community Foundation, supporting companies and individuals so that they can make social investments and donations with high social impact. At the same time, it helps civil society organizations to have a more efficient management and to serve as channels for citizen participation to improve the quality of life in Greater Florianópolis and Santa Catarina.

Polen is a platform created to encourage alternative and innovative ways of raising funds for social projects through online shopping. After installation of the "pollinator ray", the user can buy in Polen partner stores and support social causes without spending anything more for it, because it is the store that transfers a part of the value of the sale to the institution previously selected by the user.

ICOM is one of the institutions favored by Polen. The #ICOMnoPolen campaign has emerged to encourage direct and indirect followers on social networks to become acquainted with and become Polen users in their online shopping by choosing to donate to ICOM. Actions from August through December 2016 resulted in a significant increase in the number of donations to ICOM. Strategies consisted of hashtags creations, postings on ICOM social networks, print ad serving (newspaper and busdoor), radio spot and VT.
