The place where I live

My main motivation to start this project is to improve myself about interdisciplinary and create working possibilities with the concepts of traditional and cultural codes among / on various societies.

In this project, I transferred  some of cultural Turkish motifs and drawings that is come from cultural codes to Berlin’s modern and minimalist designed rooms with a projector. This transfer/project is an attempt to bring together different moment and different types of lifestyles.

Guest room concept, which has important role in Turkish lifestyle, emphasizes our cultural codes strongly. In addition to that, guest room is a kind of showroom that is used for exhibit our emotional direction.  Storing that much information and output, guest rooms are still having the biggest space in most families’ home.

In the first picture, the drawing appeared through the perspective of guest room corner, placed with traditional seating group motifs’. In that time, the intention is to collecting two moments between modern and the consept of oriental living style.

In the second picture’s concept, I’ve been continue to bring some kind of details from my home as a drawing. This time I use a section from my kitchen with in the three taps, painted tiles and many dishes around. Lace motifs in the kitchen cupboard and very organized plates... When this drawing transfer into here a moment, this time it wasn’t clash between modern and oriental, but I can say, It is mostly observing the lifestyle differences as well as used kitchen utensils and living style in general.

With this transfer, I tried to catch the perspective moves on drawing in a different way. Used a corner at my recent home for the project and captured some two different moments reflections. This combines are helping me to define how varied we are in our lives.
