Dandelyan — Modern Botany

Ryan Chetiyawardana (aka Mr Lyan) is one of the hottest mixologists in the world and was employed to open a bar in the new Tom Dixon designed hotel, Mondrian London. Ryan’s vision for the bar was ‘Modern Botany’, reflecting his unique style — no ice, no shakers, only natural ingredients presented in innovative and unexpected ways. To reference the experimental and botanical nature of the cocktails, archival botanical drawings were used, and given a modern twist by injecting them with fluorescent inks and interweaving typography. As well as expressing the ethos and stories behind the brand, the menus referencing old field guides were designed to be precious and desirable.
