Here our task was to completely hand draw and space our names using the world famous Helvetica bold typeface. We could use any format we wanted. After five or six trial sketches, I decided to go with two lines. I loved the relationship between the matching descenders of the lowercase 'J' and 'Y.' I felt like it brought together my first and last name nicely. After transferring the sketch onto 80 lb. True White French Paper using the poor man's light box (window), I filled in the letters using ink.
