West Side Storey
Based on the architectural motifs of Jurong, West Side Storey is a series of three handmade necklaces with each
one, as their respective name suggests, tells a story.
‘Setting in Shape’ mirrors the geometric forms of Jurong Town Hall, a building with historical significance with respect to
Singapore’s post-independence industrial development.
With bamboo as it's key material, 'Multiple Pole-Sonalities' is a depiction of an everyday scene peculiar to public housing dwellers: The hanging of laundry on bamboo poles outside their flat windows.
‘Green with Envy’ is a blend of marble and resin – a portrayal of the gardens seen in and around public housing estates; spaces where neighbours from different cultures bond around gardening as a leisure activity.

The necklaces were later even displayed at The National Design Centre.
