A collaborative rebrand + app UI/UX update for the most famous chess app in the market.

The Logo 
__

Chess.com logo has received a facelift to rejuvenate the brand. The main difference noticed are the pawns. The Pawn has always been the icon defining the Chess.com brand. It is--most of the time-- the piece which initiates the game, used for sacrifice, a strategic wall, and used to bring pieces more powerful than itself onto the board.

The iterated use of the upward slants on the wordmark is used to signify the growth that one experiences playing chess and all that the brand has to offer. The slight rounded edges of each letter is there to invite kindness and the brand's belief that chess is for all.
The App

Chess.com is the premier chess website on the web. It has a community of over 15 million people. This mock-up is in response to a couple critical issues in the current app and features a revamped user experience, better emphasising community.
