Aae to yuun ki jaise hamesha the mehrbaan,
Bhule to yuuñ ki jaise kabhi ashna na the.
Tumhaari yaad ke jab zakhm bharne lagte hain,
Kisi bahaane tumhein yaad karne lagte hain.
(When the wounds of your memory begin to heal,
I find some excuse to think of you).
Bezaar, budmizaj, anaadar, budlehaaz,
Aise nahin thai jaise tere baad hogai.
Qarb kai na wafa kai hote hain,
Jhagre saare anaa kai hote hain.
Dono jahan teri mohabbat mein haar ke,
Woh ja raha hai koi shab-e-gham guzaar ke.
(After losing both this world and the next for your love,
how the lover stirs, look! roused from his night of sorrow).
Woh Aa rahe hain woh aate hain Aa rahe honge,
Shab-e-firaaq yeh keh kar Guzaar di hamne.
Kaanch ka guldan byshak hai bohat hi keemti,
Zard hoty phool ko lykin nami bhi chahiay.
Gulon mein rang bhare baad-e-naubahaar chale,
Chale bhi aao ke gulshan ka kaarobaar chale.
(Like the new breeze of springthat grants blossoms their hue,
come forth love, grant the garden leave to go about its busines).
Na Shayr Hun Na Shaoor-e-Ishq Hai Mujhko,
Mein To Likhta Hun Ke Haal-e-Dil Biyaan Kar Sakoon.
