The Never-Ending Part of the Story
How do we arrive at certain design decisions? What does your internal monologue say and how does it relate to form or function? Do you take notes to reach a conclusion? What happens along the way? How does something work?

For me, a sketchbook is a way to work through these questions and any other that might come up throughout a day. Sketches of ideas, snippets of poetry. Quotes, drawings, renderings. My favorite way to work is by hand with a pen and a blank sheet of paper. I enjoy the tactility, the smell of the paper, the portability. I think everyone should have a space to work through ideas. Sometimes, this evidence of thought can lead to a more articulated and refined concept when it comes to delivery. Others, it can be evidence of a day’s passing or inspiration. I have even been known to doodle on napkins.
