Neo-Memphis Abstract Exploration
The Neo-Memphis design movement was started by Ettore Sottsass and a collective of designers in the 1980s. It positioned itself as an antithesis of functional modernist design and espoused the creation of aesthetic objects over functional ones. It drew a lot of criticism but it established itself as one of the most recognisable design trends in the 20th century - with its use of lacquered materials, quirky patterns and bright colours. 

I was really fascinated by this design movement and decided to explore some abstract ideas in space utilising this style. This is an ongoing project for me as I explore this design trend and my interpretations of it in a spatial sense.
